How it works

Our experienced therapist will analyse your skin and hair type before creating a personalised treatment plan.

Our laser uses a large treatment spot size which allows multiple hair follicles to be targeted at the same time.

For clients with dark hair and lighter skin we can choose the Alexandrite (755nm), while the Nd:YAG (1064nm) works best on a darker skin tone.

With each session, hair is reduced. We recommend an initial course of 8-12 treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart ( depending on area and skin tone ).

1st session - Hair takes longer to grow back, occasionally hair reduction is noticeable ( depending on area )

3rd session - Hair becomes finer

4th session - Hair growth starts to reduce

8th session - Hair growth dramatically reduces

10-12th session - Smooth results , Now maintenance can begin, only 1-2 sessions each year

Preparation & Aftercare

Preparation

• Shave

Shave the treatment area the night before your appointment.

• No Wax

Do not wax 4 weeks before your appointment as pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and treatment to be effective.

• Avoid Direct Sunlight

Allow 4 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had direct sun exposure. (Any kind of tanning or active sunbathing, with or without SPF). Allow 2 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had incidental sun exposure (stayed in the shade for the majority of the time during sunny periods, with or without SPF on).

• Avoid Using Topical Creams

Avoid using topical creams, moisturisers, body oils, colognes or perfumes to the area being treated 24 hours prior to treatment. Ensure all fake tan is removed and there is no residual fake tan present on the skin 24 hours before your treatment.

Aftercare

• Post care

There may be some mild redness and heat in areas that have been treated. Soothe any redness and sensitivity with sooting cream. This can be applied for 3-5 days or until the skin has returned to its pre-treatment state.

• Things to avoid

For 24 hours post-treatment, avoid shaving, waxing, or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, very hot showers, and tight restrictive clothing.

Avoid direct sunlight.

Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for a minimum 2 - 4 weeks after your treatment and always use Age Defence 50+ sunscreen to protect the skin and maintain results.

• Skincare

Glycolic Scrub 14% is recommended to use 5 days post-treatment to ensure the hair to shed from the follicle and help with treatment of ingrown hairs.
